Tell me your secrets.


Well, we've been open for two weeks, so that's how long I've worked here. I really like the Nutella-and-strawberry crepe, although the spinach, egg, and feta is good too.

What were you doing before Cafe Crepe came into your life?

Actually, I just got back from a semester in Iceland, where I was studying Icelandic language, culture, and folktales. I'm a student at UW, studying comparative history of ideas. I came back to the U.S. and had a week to find a job and a place to live before classes started. I saw a "help wanted" sign in the window, so here I am.

How was the food in Iceland?

Gross. I'm a vegetarian, and they eat a ton of meat and fish. Pastas are expensive and produce is pretty scarce, so I didn't eat much.

What did you crave the most?

Mexican food. They don't pull off Mexican food very well.

What did you eat when you first got home?

A big salad. It was delicious. It was impossible to find good, fresh tomatoes in Iceland. All they had was lamb's head and fish.

How did you end up in Iceland? Why not Mexico?

Actually, I'd like to do a language immersion in Mexico next, if I can afford it. Iceland just seemed like a chill place to go to.
