For those of you who CHOOSE to work at Amazon, Real Networks, Microsoft, Immunex, and the vast array of other dot-coms, please quit your endless whining. I am sick and tired of listening to you bitch about your IPOs, options, vesting, splits, and cashing out.

Complaining about work is fine, but when the conversation turns to "Oh, I don't know if five percent more vesting is worth three months; I'd only get a couple thousand." Hello? That's a couple thousand on top of your already pretty-fucking-good-with-full-benefits hourly rate! And what do you pay for that? Nothing. You just have to work 40 hours a week like the rest of us. Sure, every once in a while some of you have to spend 60 hours a week, but boo-hoo-hoo! Cry me a fuckin' river! You knew you'd have to put in overtime for that gig, and the next week you usually get extra vacation, or only have to put in 20 hours. Besides, you spend more time sending e-mails and surfing the Net than working!

The next time you prattle on about how horrible your job is, and then turn around and brag about how if you stay another year you'll be able to put a down payment on a house, I am going to smack you! We make roughly the same hourly rate, and I can't even begin to afford a house. I'm lucky if I can make rent. You think your situation is awful? Fine, then leave it. I hear McDonald's is hiring.
