DIVERSIONS

THURSDAY 4/20

WINE TASTING -- Enophiles take note: Successful and renowned wine importer Robert Kacher will be in Seattle with a selection of new Burgundies in tow to offer at a free wine tasting. If Gallo paired with Spaghettios is your usual fare, you might want to bring along a notebook as well. Esquin Wine Merchants, 2700 Fourth Ave S, 682-7374, 5-6:30 pm, free.

SATURDAY 4/22

EARTH DAY -- It doesn't seem like so long ago that Earth Day was a symbol of the vibrant environmental movement in this country. In those halcyon days, you were chastised for not recycling, the spotted owl made headlines, and everyone really attempted to conserve fuel and raw materials. That was, unfortunately, before the advent of the Internet and SUVs, when attention spans went into a steep decline and smog levels began regularly obscuring Mt. Rainier. This year, REI will be hosting a swap meet at their downtown store to support Earth Share of Washington and attempt to raise environmental consciousness from its current low water mark. REI, 222 Yale Ave N, 223-1944, 9:30 am-3:30 pm, $10.

EASTER EGG HUNT -- After Halloween, Easter is the preferred candy holiday for kids. Parents may indulge their 4- to 8-year-old's sweet tooth at this Wallingford egg hunt, where "the Bubbleman" will provide the pre-funk, and, of course, "the Easter Bunny" will headline. Wallingford Center, N 45th & Wallingford Ave, 547-7246, 9:30 am, free.

SUNDAY 4/23

EASTER CRUISE -- Easter mass can really work up one's appetite; Jesus probably headed straight to the refrigerator after not eating for three days. In this spirit, Argosy cruises is offering an Easter brunch/cruise to the scenic Kitsap peninsula on this holiest of holidays. Departs from Pier 55, Seattle waterfront, 623-1445, noon-5:30 pm, $52 adults/$23 kids.
