THE ROBOT ZOO--All I can think of is that Styx song, "Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto...." But I assure you, Styx has nothing to do with this. In fact, it's cooler than Styx. Through September 4 you can see robotic reproductions of a grasshopper, a housefly, a squid, and more in order to learn more about how their flesh-and-blood counterparts function. "Thank you very much, Mr. Roboto. For helping me escape just when I needed to!" Pacific Science Center, daily 10 am-9 pm, through Labor Day. Adults $7.50, juniors (3-13) and seniors (65+) $5.50, children under three are free.

ANNIVERSARY PARTY--It's the 39th anniversary of the Seattle Metaphysical/As-You-Like-It Library, so come celebrate with a day full of readings, music, food, and surprises. WOMEN'S RIGHTS DAY CELEBRATION 2000--Join radical women in their fight for reproductive freedom, liberation, and revolution. Speakers include Alicia Bierria, program coordinator, Communities Against Rape and Abuse (CARA); a representative from Home Alive; and local writers and poets to kick some oppressive booty and stand up for their rights! TIBET FEST 2000--It's said that the Tibetans have a dance for nearly every occasion--the harvest, marriage, even house-building--so you know there'll be an assload of dances in store this weekend to celebrate the Fifth Annual Tibet Fest 2000. WEST SEATTLE FARMERS MARKET--Don't stand for any of that pesticide-covered, out-of-state crap! Get on down over to West Seattle and get your hands on some homegrown fresh fruits and vegetables.
