DIVERSIONS

FRIDAY 2/23

ORIGINAL TOUGHMAN CONTEST--Acting-schmackting! This is the real deal, boxing with no pre-determined winners or fancy choreography--no wrestling, biting, kicking, or head-butting, and a chance for the victors (one male, one female) to advance to regional events and perhaps the World Championships on pay-per-view. Fighters will be broken down into two weight classes, and no professional fighters or amateurs with more than five wins in the last five years will be eligible to compete. This event continues through Saturday, February 24. Kitsap Pavilion, Bremerton, 628-0888, 8 pm, $15.50-$25.50.

TUESDAY 2/27

SHROVE TUESDAY PANCAKE SUPPER--Pancakes and Cajun music figure into this Fat Tuesday celebration. Stuff yourself while you can, because while you don't have to give up Cajun music, you should probably lay off the pancakes for the next 40 or so days. All-woman Cajun band Les Femmes d'Enfer provide the entertainment, and proceeds benefit the U-District Teen Shelter Program. University Temple United Methodist Church, 1415 NE 43rd St, 632-5163, 6 pm, $10.

REMEMBERING THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT--Founding chairman of the Black Panthers Bobby Seale speaks on how to plan for a more equitable future for all races and genders, without harming the environment or the economy. Pierce College at Fort Steilacoom, 964-6283, 7 pm, $15.

WEDNESDAY 2/28

ENHANCING WOMEN'S SEXUALITY--A free workshop focusing on approaches to building erotic satisfaction for women. Includes explicit imagery! Seattle Institute for Sex Therapy, Education and Research, 100 NE 56th St, 8 pm, 522-8588, free.
