Whether you honor it as a time of day (4:20), a day of the year (4/20), or a fabled police code for illicit drug use (complete stoner invention), 420 means pot, and pot means good eatin'. To honor the day, I polled stoners on their favorite pot-enhanced edibles. "Judy Fu's Snappy Dragon tea-smoked duck with hoisin and Chinese steamed buns," said one subject, in a single breath. "Nachos from 7-Eleven," said another. Haute-cuisine stoners raved about Cafe Chinois's tempura halibut cheeks and the deep-fried sage leaves at Marco's Supperclub. Low-rent stoners gushed over the portion sizes and people watching at the SeaTac overeatery Claim Jumpers. Finally, a friend sang the praises of the "hippie speedball"—a bong hit followed by a quad iced vanilla latte from Vivace. "Sunday brunch, I like to call it."
