Eugenie Jones, a local singer who was trained by Greta Matassa, has a voice that covers words like pieces of silk covering precious stones. But she never overdoes it, never overflows with emotion, never goes too high or too low, but always swings with a restraint that’s cosmopolitan yet soulful. Tonight’s performance will feature music from Jones’s new album, Black Lace Blue Tears, the great Bill Anschell on the piano, and an audience that knows what good music is all about.
