Directed by Lev Anderson and Chris Metzler and narrated by the father of the star of Montana Fishburne: An A-List Daughter Makes Her XXX Debut, Laurence Fishburne, Everyday Sunshine concerns the brief rise and long fall of a very original (maybe too original) black American band. Fishbone emerged in the hood, invented a sound that combined new wave, punk, rock, funk, and ska, almost became huge, and collapsed in the early 1990s. If it weren’t for the animation sequence concerning the band’s formation in a Los Angeles high school, this amazing documentary would have no flaws. Fishbone will appear in flesh and bone at this screening and answer any and all of your questions. (Northwest Film Forum, 1515 12th Ave, www.nwfilmforum.org, 2 pm, $10)
