Sure, it’s a remake, but Fright Night surpasses its questionable provenance with glee. Colin Farrell’s evil vampire is a hunk who wears his casual air of danger like a badge. David Tennant charms and repulses as a charming, repulsive famous stage magician. And it’s all written by a former Buffy the Vampire Slayer producer, giving the whole thing a very familiar tone: If you like snarky comedy in the face of outright terror, this is the movie for you. Skip the 3-D, but don’t miss this weird little gem of a horror-action movie. (See Movie Times)
