Governor Chris Gregoire wants the Washington State Legislature to legalize same sex marriage this session. House Speaker Frank Chopp (D-43) has the votes to pass the measure out of his chamber. Over in the state senate, where 25 votes are required to pass a bill, 26 senators currently plan to vote for same sex marriage.
