For a movie that starts with skeet-shooting a baby, director Bobcat Goldthwait’s God Bless America proves surprisingly funny and satisfying. It follows the cross-country exploits of a likable if unlikely Bonnie and Clyde–like duo intent on ridding reality-TV-addled America of its many rude, insufferable assholes. There’s an undeniable vicarious pleasure in watching our duo Frank (Joel Murray) and Roxy (18-year-old Tara Lynne Barr) dispatch, with an equal degree of detached irony, both a Glenn Beckish hate-talker and the guy who takes up two spots in a crowded parking lot.
