Did you ever like "The Bewlay Brothers" from Bowie's tragically overrated Hunky Dory album? Former junkie and self-obsessed English fatboy Brett Anderson does. So much, in fact, that he's based his whole career 'round its basic, whiny, overfed noise--that, and Johnny Marr's guitar sound from the Smiths. In a land sadly bereft of celebrities, Anderson is a poor, pale excuse for a pop star. Suede's forthcoming album, Head Music, is being trailed by a single ("Electricity") which would've been rejected by even Marc Bolan as too weak. Still, what can you expect from the pretentious asswipe whose idea of Indian music stems solely from Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir," and who once stated that he's "a bisexual who's never had a homosexual experience?"
