Before we had a medical marijuana law, before pot was the lowest priority for Seattle police, before the city attorney stopped all pot prosecutions, before every elected official in city hall and in the city’s delegation to Olympia said they supported legalizing pot, and before a well-funded initiative was running to legalize marijuana, there was Hempfest. That’s where it started. This year, the largest pot-culture shindig in America gets even bigger, picking up a third day and filling Friday through Sunday with bands, political stumping, and wonderful stoned strolling.
