I feel a little weird writing this, but I'm hoping that someone out there might be familiar enough with Seattle nightlife to point me in the right direction.

I can't really explain why it happened or where it came from, but I've been crazy-go-nuts about high heels since early high school. For all of my cajoling and encouragement, seemingly none of the women I interact with on a daily basis ever dig out their heels from the back of their closet.

The response I have gotten to my inquiries has been universal—high heels (especially anything over two to three inches) really come out only on Friday and Saturday nights at "the club." Nobody ever really expanded to mention any specific clubs.

I've been all around Ballard and Fremont, they aren't devoid of stilettos, but I didn't find anything to write home about (I don't think I would write home about it even if I did—my poor mother would be very confused). My attention has turned recently to Queen Anne and Capitol Hill. They seem a bit more conducive to ankle breakers, but I really don't know where to start.

An epiphany came to me tonight at an intersection close to Neumos/Comet/Neighbours. Four fantastic sets of sky-high shoes, walking toward one of the aforementioned establishments. In the end, that's all I really want—just to find a place where six-inch platform pumps are somewhat commonplace. If such a place exists, I'd be more than happy to throw my money at the bartender in exchange for the view I have always wanted.
