Kyle Thomas, aka King Tuff, is one of the friendliest fellows I’ve ever had the pleasure of interviewing. He also has the best laugh ever. But for the purposes of this posting, all you really need to know is that he writes implausibly infectious scrappy guitar pop-rock. He croons with the sort of unabashed, battered-glam nasal pitch that forces you to hang on every word. Furthermore, dude spends time rocking it with J Mascis. I dare you to seek out “Sun Medallion” right now and not fall in love. (Funhouse, 206 Fifth Ave N, 374-8400, 9:30 pm, $10, 21+)
