To quote the Game, "what kinda bitch nigga puts his hands on kids?" It really hurts me to say—because I had soo much respect for him in the first place—but Tony Yayo may have crossed the line. The latest buzz is that the old-head G-Unit liability allegedly accosted a 14-year-old kid (pushing him against a wall and slapping him) when he spotted the teenager boppin' thru Manhattan in a Czar Entertainment T-shirt—the same company owned by Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond, street-connected industry impresario and manager of the Game. It wasn't until later that it was revealed that the kid was Henchmen's son... yeesh. Check his files—such as the none-too-complimentary shout-out he got from 2Pac on the Makaveli album; Henchmen ranks up there with the rap moguls I'd least wanna cross, just a space or two under Suge Knight. The fallout from this situation, which includes a Russell Simmons/Al Sharpton–backed protest against G-Unit and the possible stabbing of the brother of Chris Lighty, manager of 50 Cent, comes amid widespread rumor of instability within rap's most hated camp. Young Buck (who just dropped his dope sophomore LP, Buck the World) is hardly toeing the company line these days, having made peace with sworn rivals Game and Jadakiss. Yeah, it might all sound childish to you—and it is—but is indie rock nearly as entertaining? Okay then.

Hopefully the rest of y'all habitually check one the internet's best places for the rap music, HiphopGame.com, for brand-new joints, rumors, and the like; if you did, you likely caught the interview with our dudes Dyme Def. Well, technically it was just one-third of DD, Fearce Vill, holding forth on working with BeanOne, the Seattle scene, and plans for the future. Speaking of the future, I predict that on the night of April 14, the cats known to P-I readers as "Def Dyme" will be rocking a show at Nectar, along with the Tac-Town's multitalented D.Spade, rap-rock outfit the Goondocks (who have a new album out called International Metamorphosis), and Ballard wiseacres Bedroom Stompers (yo, thanks for the T-shirt, fellas). Hit the show, get Dyme Def's must-hear Space Music... and clap, clap!

Nectar just don't stop the rock either, as the next night (the 15th), they play host to Specs Wizard and Original Space Neighbors, with DJs Kutz and Leopold Bloom. Swerve out to Fremont and peep the newest funky space incarnation of the man rightfully dubbed "the holy ghost of Northwest underground hiphop." Get that Original Space Neighbors album, too, then text your weed man for best results.

Shit, you might as well set up your cot while you're out at Nectar, too, if just to wish feliz cumpleaños to Ms. Meli of Obese Productions, 'cause it's her birthday party on the 17th! Hate on Meli or Obese at your peril—her hard work and dedication have been the scene's assets for more years than you probably been rapping. 'Cause damn, I know you all rap—does anybody not? recommended
