FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 27

BONAFIDE PRESENTS BUGZ IN THE ATTIC

AC Lewis and J-Justice spin cuts ranging from hiphop, house, and soul... to basically whatever it takes to bring on the party. Tonight Bonafide presents Afronaught and Daz-I-Cue of the Bugz in the Attic crew, representatives of the London broken beat/future jazz scene. Nation, 1921 Fifth Ave, 374-9492, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $8.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 28

HOME COOKIN'--JAZZANOVA

We are from Germany, and we like to make party. Tonight is a special Home Cookin' with Berlin's Jazzanova, who will be brandishing polished, jazz-infused tracks. Also playing: Koop (See preview page 37) and Michael Antonia. Baltic Room, 1207 Pine St, 9 pm-2 am, 625-4444, 21+, $10.

REFOKUS

Refokus is here to bring you a monthly party of drum 'n' bass, two-step UK garage, and breaks. This month: San Francisco's Juju with Seattle's Slantooth, Quazar, and Case. Mash it up! Industrial Art Factory, 3427 Fourth Ave, 18+, $15. Info available at Zion's Gate: 568-5446.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 29

FLAMMABLE

This is Seattle's perennial house night. If you wanna freak the dance floor, hear some chunky, ass-shakin' deep house (courtesy of Brian Lyons and guests), or just wanna drink until you're hanging on to the carpet, this is the place. Remember to keep your shirt on, cause this ain't no circuit party! Re-bar, 1114 Howell St, 233-9873, 10 pm-2 am, 21+, $6.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 30

"REVENGE OF THE ROBOTS TOUR" FEATURING EL-P AND RJD2

El-P is one of my favorite hiphop beat producers. In a genre that tends to be overly conservative, El-P knows how to work confidently outside the constraints of mainstream hiphop in order to make raw, moody beats that are for real. Also playing is RJD2, Mr. Lif, Cage and Copywrite, and Fakts One. Nation, 1921 Fifth Ave, 374-9492, 8 pm, all ages, $15.

TUESDAY OCTOBER 1

BLING BLING

Queen Lucky plays more hiphop cuts than you can shake a Philly blunt at. Since it was remodeled last year, the Backdoor now has more room and even funkier décor. It's definitely one of the most underrated dance clubs in Seattle. Backdoor Ultra Lounge, 503 Third Ave, 622-7665, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $5.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 2

THE LIVING ROOM

Doug and Gavin tear stacks of records in half just to prove how manly they are, but behind all this chivalrous behavior, I know they're just sensitive men who want to be held. Every Wednesday they bring the decks to the front lounge of Noc Noc for an intimate set of downtempo beats. Give these men a hug. Noc Noc, 1516 Second Ave, 223-1333, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $5.
