THURSDAY JUNE 19

BANCO DE GAIA

It's hard not to think of Tim Robbins' character in High Fidelity when one thinks of "world" music, but there are many artists and labels with more than exotic curries up their sleeves. Tonight Toby Marks (AKA Banco de Gaia), labelmate of Cheb I Sabbah and Karsh Kale, will DJ his eclectic, Eastern-influenced electronic productions. With Peter Madril. Baltic Room, 1207 E Pine St, 625-4444, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $5.

FRIDAY JUNE 20

TWILIGHT SECOND ANNIVERSARY

Celebrating their second anniversary, Twilight will be bringing in Chicago's rave veteran Angel Alanis, whose reputation for progressive and tech house has kept him from being tossed out like a soiled pair of JNCOs. This should be a night of full-on raved-out action, just like back in the day--with house in the main room, jungle upstairs, and trance on the side. Aristocrat's Club, 220 Fourth Ave, 748-9779, 10 pm-after hours, 18+, $10/$15. SUNDAY JUNE 22

MIGHTY CROWN--THE FAR EAST RULAZ

Straight outta Yokohama, Japan, these fine gents won the 1999 World Clash and 2002 UK Cup Clash reggae dancehall battles. I believe we might witness an unprecedented perspective on the genre mon! If you watched Shortkut of the Skratch Piklz rock his dancehall set a few months back, get on this. With DJ Soul One. Baltic Room, 1207 E Pine St, 625-4444, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $7.

MONDAY JUNE 23

CLICK

Mondays at Michael's are still among the few all-ages opportunities to catch some DJed and live electronic beats, eat some food, and (if you're of age) have a brew. Host Misha plays a nice blend of full-on electro and tech house with weekly guests. Tonight Terso is playing live; DJ Recess is also on the bill. Michael's Pizza, 526 Broadway, 568-5197, 7 pm-10 pm, all ages, free.

WEDNESDAY JUNE 25

DAHLIA

Portland's electronic rock/triphop act Dahlia were so well received at their last Seattle outing that they've decided to take on a monthly residency at Fremont's ToST, which has been showcasing many fine electronic and live shows. As San Francisco's Halou and even Seattle's Kuma have shown, there is a growing appreciation and following here for female-fronted, beat-programmed bands. ToST, 513 N 36th St, 547-0240, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $5.
