THURSDAY OCTOBER 21

DJ SNEAK

One of the most respected and prolific Chicago house DJs, the Puerto Rican-born Sneak was a key figure among the Windy City's second wave of jocks and producers. His releases on Cajual sister label Relief, as well as those for Strictly Rhythm and Feverpitch, carried the minimalist percolations of innovators like Marshall Jefferson into bumpin', Latinized terra firma. Sneak will surely bring a boxfull of sexy bangers and leave you gloriously drained. With DJs Flave and Omar. Last Supper Club, 124 S Washington St, 748-9975, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, free.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 23

SEB FONTAINE

Type, Fontaine's new double-disc set on Perfecto/Thrive and named after his London club night, peddles tumescent, funky house geared to lube the path to erotic encounters. Seb's not about challenging crowds, but merely pleasing them, even by playing tracks by Sander Kleinenberg and Pete Tong. Have you ever heard of such nonsense? Bring some birth control. With DJ Chronus. Club Medusa, 2218 Western Ave, 448-8887, 9 pm-3 am, 21+, $15. SUNDAY OCTOBER 24

HAKEA

Matts Carthum and Turpin comported themselves smashingly at the inaugural Decibel Festival with a robust, wide-ranging set of IDM that could renew your faith in the moribund genre. Hakea's melodies and rhythms are uniformly smart, interesting, and imbued with unsappy emotion. At times, Hakea even recall the spacey abstractions and exploratory analog tonalities of German electronic pioneers like Tangerine Dream, Conrad Schnitzler, and Klaus Schulze. This active duo is further proof that Seattle's becoming an electronic-music hotbed. CHAC Lower Level, 1621 12th Ave, 388-0521, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, free; and Tues Oct 26 at SeeSound Lounge, 115 Blanchard St, 374-3733, 10 pm-2 am, 21+, free.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 27

FUNK FLIGHT

E. Torrez and J-Sun want me to inform you that they've been spinning "quality house music" the last month or so every Wednesday at Jai Thai. In Seattle, this may be as newsworthy as reporting we have all been breathing oxygen. No, but seriously, check it out. I'm sure it's dope. Jai Thai, 235 Broadway Ave E, 313-2997, 10-2 am, 21+, free.

CORRECTION: In the Oct 7 Data Breaker, I wrongly implied Naked Sushi no longer exists at Bonzai Bistro. Bonzai is still conducting its original NS events. I regret the error.
