FRIDAY APRIL 8

PAUL OAKENFOLD, SANDRA COLLINS, LIQUID TODD

Tonight we're gonna trance like it's 1999--or perhaps not. Sandra Collins was saddled with the ignominious title of "Trance Goddess" back in the late '90s, but she's gradually shaken off that tag and broadened her DJ sets to include funky breaks, bootleg rock remixes, and darker, more melodic house selections. Collins is the first woman and only American to win Paul Oakenfold's stamp of approval, as he issued her Perfecto Presents mix disc last year on his Perfecto imprint. Oakie--officially the world's most popular disc jockey--is supporting his new mix, Perfecto Presents… The Club, which includes his remix of the Doors' classic-rock-radio staple "L.A. Woman." (He then shamelessly segues that track into his revamp of Justin Timberlake's "Rock Your Body.") With Dig Dug and DJ Chronus. Premier, 1700 First Ave, 382-7877, 8 pm-4 am, $30, all ages/21+ bar.

GRAHAM HAYNES, HAKEA

The son of renowned jazz drummer Roy Haynes, Graham Haynes (who plays trumpet, flugelhorn, cornet, and keyboards) has released several genre-blending albums since 1994. My favorites are 1997's blissful, deep ambient Tones for the 21st Century (Antilles) and 2000's BPM (Knitting Factory). The former posits what Miles Davis would've sounded like if he'd followed "He Loved Him Madly" to its ultimate destination. The latter sets Richard Wagner to frenetic drum 'n' bass and triumphant trumpet blats. Dunno what Haynes is doing these days, but his history suggests it's crucial. With Lincolnup feat. MC Mellodhrama. CHAC (Lower Level), 1621 12th Ave, 388-0521, 9 pm-2 am, 21+, $5.

SATURDAY APRIL 9

DAVID MORALES, JACOB LONDON, MR. SUPREME

Opening night (for real?) for the club that was named Skid Road for a minute and now seems to be operating as Trinity (slogan: "One destination--3 clubs"). Old-school house magus David Morales will kick things off in classy fashion and local house subverters Jacob London will thankfully keep things from getting too reverent. Mr. Supreme is the funk-soul brother of Seattle. With DJ Sol, Citizen Kane, Cosmo Baker, Ms. E, DJ Inanna, Tamara, Eva, BPM, and the Saint. Trinity, 111 Yesler Way, 447-4140, sunset-sunrise, 21+.
