TUESDAY FEBRUARY 7

SAFETY SCISSORS, TERSO, KFOHailed for his dubby, glitchy experimental techno on revered labels like Cytrax, Plug Research, and Force Inc., San Francisco producer Safety Scissors has morphed into a cheeky song-and-dance man. While 2001's Parts Water anticipated the Postal Service's swoony lo-fi electro-pop (albeit with weirder production), Safety Scissors' latest album on ~scape, Tainted Lunch, causes indigestion with its kitsch melodies and cloying vocals. But Safety Scissors' catalog is deep and mostly excellent, so let's hope he doesn't focus on the new stuff. Baltic Room, 1207 E Pine St, 625-4444, 9 pm–2 am, $7, 21+.
