Should Seattle's Gay Pride parade stay on Broadway or move downtown like Gay Pride parades in other big cities?

I think it's a matter of intent: Is the parade a protest or a celebration? Is it about confronting straight Seattle and challenging its ideas about us deviants or is it a big party with a chance to break out your new sequin jumpsuit and shake your ass on a float?

Posters going up on Broadway—sponsored by Broadway merchants—claim that "OUR" parade belongs on Broadway. An informal poll of Stranger queers comes down on the side of moving the parade downtown. You can chime in on the Stranger forums at CORIANTON HALE
