Seattle's ongoing condo outbreak has brought countless blocks of glass-fronted businesses eager to tout their spread of goods to passers-by—and lower Queen Anne's brand-new Bandits Bar is no exception. Floor-to-ceiling windows encase the ground-floor retail space, which has been transformed—via decorative horseshoes, swinging tavern doors, and silver handguns embossed with swirls—into an Old West—style saloon. Happy hour brings reduced-priced wells and wine (each $3), but it's the fiercely beloved homemade tamales ($3; pork, chicken, vegetarian, or vegan) and abundant beer list ($2 cans, $3 bottles; including Shiner Bock, Tecate, Negro Modelo) that draw the crowds. (Bandits Bar, 159 Denny Way, 443-5447. Happy hour daily 4—7 pm.)
