THURSDAY 10/6

ERASURE

Who you callin' "huge gigantic fag"? Oh. Right. Me. SQUEEEEEEAL! Erasure!! OMGz OMGz OMGz! ERASURE! Moore Theatre, 8 pm, $45, all ages.

ONONOS, REPORTER, BOYZ IV MEN

The drummer of the Ononos is called YES. (Or, when in Madrid, Si! In Moscow, Da! And so forth.) The keyboardist, ever the contrarian, is known as NO. The lead singer answers to WHY—and why the hell not?—and he (I suppose) is the brain that hatched not only the Ononos, but such freakish delights as Comeback, Panty Raid, Pho Bang, Gaybash, Cabaret of Despair, Ruff Gemz, and on and on and on. (His/her/its true identity is something of a secret, but rhymes with Schmarcus Schmilson—hint, hint). Their shows, if you are unaware (and you will be, eventually, trust me), are a gender-blending freakfest of esoteric neo-faggotism and megaweird brain origami. In other words: the perfect way for the discerning 'mo to spend an evening. Tonight, Ononos play with Reporter, from Portland, and Boyz IV Men, from "San FranDISCO," yuk, yuk, and please to note! It is crucial to understand that Boyz IV Men is not Boyz II Men—because they have, for starters, like TWICE as many boys. Or, um, twice as many men. Maybe both! (Titillating!) So do it. Do it! Comet, 9 pm, $8, 21+.

TUESDAY 10/11

NODDY

Where the heck has NODDY been, anyhow? Huh? Well certainly not nude and rolling around in my bedsheets covered in whipped cream like I'd like, that's for damn sure. (Sob.) What those damn musical hotties have REALLY been doing is cutting a new "album," as it were (as I guess musicians are wont to do), and they've called it Murder! Dance! Kill!, which is always good advice. Tonight is the official "release" (provocative!) of the fabulous thing, even though Metronomy and New Villager will be playing, too. But we know who we're really going for. NODDY. That's who. Neumos, 7 pm, $12, 21+.
