FRONT OF BOOK Letters: Half page, as usual. Are readers no longer sending in letters to the editor? Is this a sign that no one is, indeed, reading The Stranger?... Last Days: Highly entertaining, with a hint of strong moral fiber. Mr. Schmader appears to be the only Stranger staffer with the hint of a soul... NEWS Once again a small section. Is The Stranger turning away from its meager attempt at news authenticity?... SHORT FEATURE Didn't read... FEATURE Long, technical, very quote heavy. Such a dull subject hardly seems worthy of such a mammoth length... FILM Film Lead: Smart and funny. Sean Nelson being ravaged in his very own section is a welcome sight... Film Follow(s): Bradley Steinbacher offers neither talent nor true critical insight. He should be fired... BOOKS Books Lead: The Stranger's authors-review-their-audience series is consistently one of the few bright spots in the paper... ART Mildly interesting, but highly defensive... THEATER None... CHOW Didn't read... MUSIC Two well-written, thoughtful articles soiled by a single overwritten article by Nate Lippens... ETC. The Band: Childish, but funny. Why is it that the best articles in The Stranger are usually penned by non-staffers? (See also: Books) ... It's My Party: Didn't read... Celeb I Saw U: Too gay... I Love TV: Skimmed... Savage Love: Unfortunately, I was unable to muster the strength to read Mr. Savage's diatribes this week... Obits: Didn't read.
