FRONT OF BOOK Letters: Didn't read.... Last Days: Like exceptional frosting on an otherwise stale pastry.... NEWS A near-decent section this week, though my hopes that The Stranger would be able to move past the monorail have evidently been dashed.... FEATURE Given the apparent mental state of The Stranger editorial department, I find it odd that they would choose to throw rocks at mentally unstable musicians. Did The Stranger get a good deal on the glass mansion that houses its offices?... FILM A rather lengthy "dissection" of James Bond films by Bradley Steinbacher, perhaps The Stranger's most inept, uninspired writer. (Second place: Sean Nelson, whose writing also appears in the film section this week.).... ART Following Emily Hall's startlingly intelligent visual art piece last week, I decided to read her section more regularly. This, as it turns out, was a colossal blunder on my part.... THEATER Didn't read.... CHOW Min Liao's struggles to refrain from eating meat would be comical if they weren't so pathetic.... MUSIC Didn't read.... ETC. It's My Party: Didn't read.... Celeb I Saw U: Too gay.... I Love TV: Mr. Humphrey's call for more violence on television is just the sort of dangerous, infantile behavior The Stranger "excels" at.... Savage Love: Mr. Savage's writing seems both lazy and exceptionally mean this week, leading one to question whether or not he still has any interest in penning his column.... Control Tower: Didn't read.... Obits: Didn't read.
