FRONT OF BOOK Letters: A full page of letters from readers--seeming to suggest, somewhat perplexingly, that people are still reading The Stranger.... Last Days: Genius.... NEWS See Feature.... FEATURE A large package filled with a handful of Stranger writers' musings on America's current war. Said musings range from the intelligent (Sherman Alexie, Emily White) to the spectacularly inane (not surprisingly, from staffers Josh Feit and Charles Mudede). This, of course, is yet another example of The Stranger's "staff writers" being put in their place by outside, far more intelligent sources.... THEATER Didn't read.... BOOKS See Theater.... ART See Theater, Books.... FOOD See Theater, Books, Art.... MUSIC Two new columns: The first, by Jennifer Maerz, appears to be little more than another vehicle for her words of praise about the genre of "garage rock." The second, by Bradley Steinbacher, merits little comment beyond this: What are The Stranger's editors thinking, handing such a shocking idiot as Mr. Steinbacher a weekly column?... FILM David Schmader offers an entertaining take on this year's Oscars. The rest of the section, unfortunately, has very little to offer intelligent readers.... ETC. It's My Party: None this week.... I Love TV: Didn't read.... Nightstand: Note to Christopher Frizzelle--any complaints you may direct toward me about my not reading your column are sure to fall upon deaf ears. In other words, I will offer words on Nightstand only when you pen something worth reading. Obviously, this week is not one of those occasions.... Control Tower: Didn't read.... Savage Love: Unable to muster interest.... Celeb I Saw U: Too gay....
