FRONT OF BOOK Letters: Unavailable at deadline.... Last Days: Sadly, also unavailable at deadline.... NEWS The debut of Erica C. Barnett, yet another writer plucked from The Stranger's competitor, the Seattle Weekly. One question: If the Weekly is such a disastrous publication, as Dan Savage and his cronies routinely enjoy claiming, why does The Stranger keep taking its writers?... SHORT FEATURE: Charles Mudede chooses to kick a neighboring city while it's down, offering further example of The Stranger's rampant, sour-tasting venom.... FEATURE A fairly well-written piece by Emily Hall, though one has to wonder whether anyone outside of Seattle's tiny, exclusive visual arts world will find it of any interest.... THEATER Too gay.... BOOKS Long and impenetrable (like nearly every book section found in The Stranger).... ART Didn't read.... FOOD For two weeks in a row now, Christopher Frizzelle--who once showed promise as a writer when he first came to The Stranger from the Seattle Weekly--has penned a negative food review. This would be fine in and of itself (especially given regular contributor Min Liao's sugarcoated tripe), but, unfortunately, Mr. Frizzelle has yet to show he has any knowledge of (and talent for writing about) food.... MUSIC Skimmed.... FILM Sean Nelson debuts a new "film column" this week, presumably so he can further exhaust Seattle residents with his long-winded, pseudo-intellectual horsehockey.... ETC. It's My Party: Didn't read.... Live Wire: Also didn't read.... I Love TV: Unable to muster the courage to read.... Control Tower: Didn't read.... Savage Love: See I Love TV.... Celebrity I Saw U: Too gay....
