FRONT OF BOOK Letters: Close to a full page this week, proving that improvements are both slow and minor at The Stranger.... Last Days: Sadly, unavailable at deadline.... NEWS Just one week after The Stranger's annual Queer Issue, it's extremely disappointing that the paper's news section is still all sodomy all the time. Has The Stranger forgotten that it does, indeed, have many a heterosexual reader? Given the past few months, the answer would appear to be yes.... FEATURE An "Independence Day" package that is (a) written by Canadians, and (b) so startlingly un-American that it will undoubtedly shock and outrage Seattle's good citizens. Perhaps now the public will finally run The Stranger out of town? One hopes so.... THEATER Didn't read.... BOOKS Also didn't read.... ART Intelligent and informative and unusually un-boring.... FOOD Didn't read.... MUSIC Skimmed.... FILM Terrible and inept.... ETC. Nightstand: Didn't read.... Some Candy Talking: Also didn't read.... Live Wire: Also didn't read.... Erasing Hours: In a change from the usual tripe, Sean Nelson produces a column that is actually useful.... Savage Love: See news.... I Love TV: Also see news.... Control Tower: Didn't read.... Celebrity I Saw U: Given The Stranger's trend these past few months, I would say "too gay" no longer applies to Adrian Ryan's column. "Gay enough for the rest of the paper" would be a better description....
