November 13, 2003 - VOL. 13, NO. 09

FRONT OF BOOK Letters: Two large corrections, both caused by blunders by Stranger News Editor Josh Feit. Perhaps nothing more need be said.... Last Days: An especially heartwarming column this week.... NEWS After the debacle that was The Stranger's election endorsements (a quick recap: Only one person the paper endorsed won), I wonder if anyone will take the paper's news section seriously.... SHORT FEATURE Eschewing actual journalism, The Stranger chooses to cover the big story of the Green River killer confessions by way of a comic strip. What's next? A hard-hitting political story told via The Lockhorns?.... FEATURE A big holiday food package. Isn't this sort of advertising-infused writing something The Stranger often complains about finding in its competitors?... THEATER A number of brief, smart reviews, including a pan of a new work by one of The Stranger's Genius Awards recipients.... BOOKS A long, well-written review by Emily Hall.... ART Didn't read.... MUSIC Some good pieces that are unfortunately lost among the section's swamp of columns. Does every musical genre need its own special space?... FILM Terrible. Just terrible.... ETC. In Arts News: Didn't read.... Nightstand: Christopher Frizzelle strays from book reviewing to film reviewing. The results are equally dull.... Live Wire: Didn't read.... Drunk by Noon: Didn't read.... The Truth: Didn't read.... Underage: Didn't read.... Data Breaker: Didn't read.... The Score: Didn't read.... Some Candy Talking: Didn't read.... Savage Love: Savage spends a large portion of this week's column patting himself on the back for his book sales. Has he no shame? The answer, to regular readers, is undoubtedly no.... I Love TV: Troubling, as usual.... Control Tower: Didn't read.... Celebrity I Saw U: Too gay....
