OPENING AND CURRENT RUNS
* 1,001 Nights of Cruising
Following the success of Why? Why? Why?, the ingenious playwright and shadow puppeteer Scot Augustson adapts three tales from 1,001 Arabian Nights with the help of an impossibly fine cast, including Kevin Kent, Heidi Schreck, Jonah Von Spreecken, and Susanna Burney. The troupe's combination of voice work, pantomime, and ribald silliness calls to mind a menage 脿 trois between Orson Welles' Mercury Radio Theater, Monty Python, and the South Park movie. If you miss it you'll be sorry. (Runs with Stephen Hando's Cruising, reviewed this issue--twice!) On the Boards, 100 W Roy St, 217-9888. $12. Thurs-Sun at 7:30 pm. Through Feb 24.
