I first fell in like with the bedroom-pop duo the Terrordactyls because of their music. Their sweetly sung songs are laced with xylophone, acoustic guitar, and kazoo, and it's pretty adorable when Michael Cadiz and Tyrel Stendahl harmonize about their undead girlfriend in "Zombie Girl."

But it was their attention to detail in merchandise that pushed my like of the Terrordactyls into love territory. Along with their CDs, T-shirts, and 7-inches, fans can also stock up on signature Terrordactyls kazoos. What other band has their own kazoos? (For another $3, you can also buy a hand turkey drawn just for you.)

On Thursday, April 29, you have a chance to grab your very own Terrordactyls kazoo and hum along with the Terrordactyls at the Bread Factory in South Seattle, where they'll play with the Sundance Kids, Letters, and Twig Palace. The show starts at 7:00 p.m., and the venue is asking for a $5 donation at the door. (And don't forget to bring a few bucks for a kazoo.)

On the complete opposite side of the sonic spectrum is Seattle's fantastic and thrashy metal band Black Breath. On their latest record, Heavy Breathing (produced by Kurt Ballou of Converge), the band revels in everything morbid, dark, and terrible with heavy songs like "Escape from Death," "Eat the Witch," and "Virus." The band plays the Black Lodge on Friday, April 30. You should probably leave your kazoos at home for this one, unless you want one melted to your face. recommended
