Less than three weeks. That's how long you have to get ready for Christmas. And yeah, you started the season with the best intentions—you were going to make cookies and cards, you were going to knit scarves and burn mix CDs, you were going to be the punk-rock Martha Stewart of Christmas 2K7. Then you got kind of busy. You decided to go to the M.I.A. show instead of staying home and knitting, and that moved your whole schedule back and you still haven't started those mittens for your mom.

Now you have about two weeks before you have to start showing up to gift exchanges, and if you go empty-handed you'll look like a Grinch. It's hard being you. But the holidays aren't ruined. On Saturday, December 8, the Vera Project hosts a double shot of craftiness with its Bring It/Screen It party and Vera Bazaar. Lucky you!

At the Vera Bazaar, you can choose from a plethora of handmade gifts crafted by local folks—and everything is priced under $40. Vera volunteers and other all-ages supporters chipped in some bucks to rent a table, and they will fill that table with art, baked goods, crafts, and anything else they desire. All for you to buy and (if you want) pass off as your own handmade Christmas present.

If you want to give a gift made by your own hands, then bring something to silk-screen. For five bucks, you get to choose from 15 Vera designs and silk-screen a bag, your jeans, a hat, a sweatshirt, a stocking... whatever you want! You'll be giving to Vera and you'll be giving to whomever you give your stuff to. It's a flawless plan.

If you're a recluse, though, and you refuse to leave your room, I should probably mention that our annual Strangercrombie auction has begun. Hundreds of items are up for bidding, everything starts at $1.99, and you can buy your loved one Cat Power's old guitar! A karaoke date with Blake Lewis! A cover song by the Presidents of the United States of America or the Posies! And so many more music (and other) things! Check the Strangercrombie pullout for all the details and the complete list of items.
