Seattle's all-ages music scene is famous! If you've watched MTV lately, chances are you saw a one-minute clip featuring the Vera Project, Kevin Erickson from the All-Ages Movement Project (AMP), and a very hairy Minus the Bear (I had no idea singer Jake Snider was sporting such an intense beard these days).

Back in February, AMP won $50,000 from Pepsi's Refresh Project, and as part of the prize, the Refresh Project's big blue school bus and MTV's SuChin Pak dropped by the Vera Project (where AMP's offices are also located) to interview Erickson and get some footage to show the rest of the world what a healthy, successful all-ages music scene looks like.

And it was looking real good, AMP. Congrats! (And speaking of AMP, stay tuned to Underage for a big announcement about their upcoming projects—they're planning some great things for the New Year.)

In other Vera Project news, this Thursday, November 18, the club hosts an excellent show featuring High Places, Soft Circle, and Tiny Vipers. High Places are an L.A.-based duo who craft ethereal electronic songs that range from low-key and groovy to upbeat and playful. They'll be the perfect sonic pick-me-up after Seattle's Tiny Vipers tears your heart out and throws it across the room with her somber, gorgeous acoustic ballads, which are the perfect, if almost soul-crushing, accompaniment to these short, gray fall days.

Oh! And technology is neat. Did you know you can text the word "VERA" to 85944 to make a $10 donation to the venue via your cell-phone bill? Just like that! Ten bucks is just like two lattes (plus tip) or one CD you were gonna steal off the internet anyway. Text away, friends.
