Welcome back Megan!

But you're way off on Mar-A-Lago. Tiffany Trump is getting married there on Saturday. Besides, someday it returned rightfully to the heirs of Marjorie Merriweather Post or turned into an official White House retreat property as she envisioned it.

"Do we care about FiveThirtyEight?"

Well they're only one of the most reputable/credible and non-biased polling organizations out there, but ok.

Well, I managed it ppppretty well. I avoided commercial television almost entirely for five days. I stayed away from the news – which is kinda hard for me because I like to stay abreast of important events. I want to know, for instance, if, heaven forbid, Putin has Nagasaki’d Kiev. Usually, I can count on something like that still being the lede on broadcast or cable TV. But if the first story is about Kanye, Kylie, or the Kardashians, or some inconsequential cultural happening, or Oh, God, it’s going to rain tomorrow, what are we to do, then off goes the TV.

This self-imposed boycott has been near-miraculous for my disposition.

So, at 5 this afternoon/evening, I shall return to TV for the vote count. I’m wondering if I need a little mountain of heroin in front of me as I watch (kidding). I’m not expecting to be pleased.

What I’d like are suggestions on where to go for the numbers. CNN is out, as are a few others, because I cannot stand pundit-a-rama blibberty-blabbing about how these or those particular people voted and why, and how similar these circumstances are to the Election of 1894. I know they gotta fill time with this shit, but really, why can’t we have tap-dancers? I just want numbers please and to be informed who is winning around the country. Anybody know a good place?

@8: PBS NewsHour. Election coverage from 5pm to 9pm PST.

The rear view mirror in the black-and-white car photo reads;
‘Fascists are closer than they appear.’

Voter turnout is abysmal of course and well below 2018. Particularly in the usual demographic of 18-30.

Way to go, kids.
