Voter turnout for the Crisis Care levy is at 24% so it will probably end up passing with just over 25% of registered voters bothering to turn in a ballot. We all know how TS feels about off cycle elections, how they are undemocratic and amount to voter suppression so I'm looking forward to some editorials in these pages about that. Btw the recall turnout ended up at 53% so this isn't even half of that. Sad.
I'd wager that Juarez doesn't listen to Howard Gale because he's a time-wasting crank who's 1 step above Goodspaceguy in coherence. One-topic cranks are bane of public comment periods, and anyone who's attended government hearings knows this.
@3
Grifterâs gonna grift. We all know sadly, there are millions of idiots who will listen to whatever nonsense he spews.
@5
Itâs rather remarkable that the Trumpy-poo isnât in jail yet for open sedition against the United States government!
IMPLIED what he wanted; he didn't explicitly direct the yahoos he gathered on J6. the mob, however, did think they were doing his bidding. they only needed a sign, not an order. they got it with *'s ridiculous jerry-lewis imitation "we're going to the CAPITOL!"
you're correct; he won't be indicted or convicted for sedition, but we all know what happened, and so did Congress. that's why he was impeached.
@1, 55% is passing but, doesnât Seattle usually have margins of closer to 70%? Is it possible the public is growing annoyed with these, or perhaps these are grumpy off-cycle voters. Maybe the P Hardy types (Guest Rant) came out in droves to shut this down.
Trump brought in fake electors, organized and paid to bud in a mob called âstop the stealâ (and after losing 63 straight court charges including his own stooge SCOTUS) those are clear admissions of an intent to subvert and overthrow a free and fair election. That is a coup. That is sedition.
The only reason itâs not prosecuted is simply because the coup was supported by the entire Republican Party apparatus and its stooges on SCOTUS.
At any other point in history there would have already been trials and likely capitol punishment.
@8
Your point is valid - intent is difficult to prove.
However, I wasnât thinking about the âfight like hellâ January 6th riot - more the scheme to have fake electors, calling in the military to seize voting machines and declare martial law, insisting the election was phoney after being told there was no evidence to support that.
Likely the best thing to hope for now is indictment for the âperfect callâ to Raffensberger.
@5 How is it that you get to decide what's insulting to half the goddamned human race? For myself, I don't care if E. Jean Carroll thinks men are necessary. She's more than welcome to her opinion, and speaking as an actual human being, I can well imagine that getting raped by a pig in a department store might darken a woman's view of men.
@12 this is all of KC. I would guess once we get the final data and dissect it weâll find 70% of Seattle supported it and the outlying areas pulled the overall average down. On average KC usually supports something like this at around 60% so this is a bit lower but not much.
@13- this is Seattle. We canât ask if a prospective tenant is a kid-toucher, and if we know he is but gets there first we have to rent to him anyway. Because landlords racism bias criminals need housing blah blah blah.
Howard Gale is indeed a time-wasting crank, but Juarez never listens to ANYONE. She's always looking down at papers during Council meetings, she doesn't meet with constituents, and she doesn't reply to emails or phone calls to her. She said ahead of time that this would be her last stint as a CM and she's been even more absent in all ways this time. A total waste to represent the largest district in Seattle.
18 I could not have said it better. Thank you. Maybe, raindrop is some rich guy down by the lake that thinks he is more important than everyone else. Not that it really matters. However, I am sure there are some decent rich people but he often does not appear as one of them. Such a shame. He could have more friends.
Not impressed with Jaurez at all who tried to put through a immense police bunker that was stopped by a takeover of the city council by Black Lives Matter.
You know the cops came from the slave patrols in this former kkk sympathetic city. Now they take their bigotry out on the homeless and other poor people who are a variety of colors. We will keep pushing forward for real justice not just for the privileged.
The USA is the most backward rich country in the world with a small minority owning most of the wealth and the working class being screwed over on a daily basis in every way.
19 Scottie you really need to give up the snide remarks on Hannah. Its not a good look.
Because you do not like what she writes canât you be more civil? It borders on bullying and is just plain tiresome. You remind me of the boys who used to throw spit balls in class. However they did it for fun but your remarks are not fun.
This is a left wing news source so as an adult you could leave it at that.

@5 Defending rapists and insulting women is 100% on-brand for you!
