As to the nuclear sub capabilities and exact number count, turns out Trump told at least 16 prostitutes this information.

I'm sure that none of them (other than the usual baseline 40% at any such location) were foreign agents.

Many heavily populated areas in Northern India are downhill from Himalayan glaciers, which are melting.

4

There can’t be a person under 100 who can possibly lay claim to the Cinerama na,e. I wonder what entity owns it? Why was Allen allowed to keep it?

Wilie dear, your unhinged screed might be more compelling if there was a non-insane political counterpart to the Democratic Party in Washington state. Unfortunately, the only option is the GOP, which has not fielded a legitimate candidate for anything in decades, and a handful of moral scold parties that appear every election and scurry back under their rock when it’s over.

I’ve been spending time in Eastern WA recently, and down the street from us is a large sign advocating for the “recall” of Governor Inslee. The state Supreme Court threw that out months ago, but the sign and the website are still up, and the website is still accepting donations.

In just over a year we will have an election - one that Governor Inslee will not be participating in, as he is not running for re-election. Instead of flogging this dead horse of a recall, or just whining about things like the airport, it would very much behoove the people who are discontent to find an attractive alternative to the Democratic Party, or even work for a Democratic candidate that more closely aligns with their “values”, but that would require both work and compromise. It’s much more fun to just spout off.

@4,

I was curious about that as well. The SIFF page has a (super brief, and not terribly informative) FAQ section about it which states that Allen/Vulcan leased the name and branding rights for a 20 year term that recently expired.

11

Sir Toby, thank you for that information. It seems rather self-defeating that they would demand licensing fees, because a look at Wikipedia shows that that Seattle is the only remaining Cinerama theatre in the USA. This is just hastening the extinction.

But that’s the way it is sometimes. My sister is involved with a history museum in Omaha, and she proposed an exhibit of all of the old stores that used to be downtown, as part of a celebration of Jewish history in town. It was shot down because for some reason the formerly dominant department store bought the rights to use the names of each of the other stores as they closed, and then that store closed in the 80’s. The shell corporation that still holds those rights absolutely refused to grant the rights to mention any of them, without an onerous fee, and threatened litigation.

Before you know it, everyone who remembers Natelson’s, Herzberg’s, Goldstein-Chapman, and Brandeis will be gone.

12

I'm sure the Cinerama name could be had for a price, like virtually everything else. But I can't imagine how anyone would think this would be a wise use of SIFF's donor funds.

15

Obviously the solution to this entire off-topic debate about the Port of Seattle is for our state to help build nationwide high speed rail instead of more airport runway lanes.

GET ER DONE!

16

We’re not getting rid of Sea-Tac airport or air travel. The price of fuel is incentive enough for airlines to build lighter planes that require less fuel.
And as for cruise ships - these were already shut down during the Coronavirus outbreak. Downtown Seattle needs the tourists. However, demanding that cruise ships not dump their crap in Puget Sound would be a reasonable request.

A president-elect during the transitional period is always schooled by the CIA, the National Security team, and others on current top-secret past, present, and pending issues. There was great, great reticence – I think for the first time in US history - with these intelligence communities in sharing very sensitive info with the maniacal Bouffant C. (Combover) Loudmouth, the incoming guy. He and his team, of course, dismissed this hesitancy with the “Deep State” dispersion. Yeah, the old Washington establishment was just out to get him in any way possible. That shows a psychopathic paranoia right there because people serving in the White House do not take it upon themselves to go after or withhold information from a president-elect. To do so would and should earn one immediate dismissal and jail time.

The intelligence community was hesitant and worried, but they told the new guy everything. One of the things we should value most as American citizens is peaceful transition of power, but we should never elect someone who thinks that particular attribute is elastic or disposable. And/Or someone who is quite willing and ready to exchange public trust for gold. And, btw, don’t ever snap a picture of me with someone who is disabled. It draws attention away from me and makes me look bad. And who wants to visit an American WWI cemetery in France? Nothing but losers there.

One sick motherfucker.

Anybody notice the seemed increase in small plane accidents? I have a theory. It’s because a lot of people can afford planes now. There are millionaires everywhere. But I don’t think many of them are good pilots. Remember when it was kind of a golden rule to try to land your plane in a field or highway, or if you were crashing, away from populated areas? Doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. Almost every week you hear of someone crashing into a building or a home. It kinda smells of bad pilot.

Mike Fucking Lindell sure seems high and mighty for someone who once upon a time would blow you for something to shoot between his toes.

Funny, isn’t it, that Cinerama (an anagram for American in case you didn’t know), a technology that had shot its wad by 1970, is still a registered trademark. I think it’s difficult news for the theater. SIFF should give the space an academic name like Cinémathèque Française. Good luck, ol’ girl.

I took Victoza for several months to lower my A1c. It worked. How is everyone affording all this Ozempic and Wegovy? It’s almost $1000/mo. Even with great insurance, which doesn’t cover Wegovy because it’s specially for weight loss, Ozempic is pricey as hell. Anyway, I hated Victoza – which is in that family of drugs. You do lose weight but it’s because food stays in your stomach forever. I don’t like feeling full all day long.

Congratulations to Ms. Mohammadi. Wish you were here. One of the many sad, sad things about Iran and its history is that as brutal as the Shah’s regime was, it looks like the William Holden and Kim Novak dancing scene in “Picnic” in comparison to the monsters running things there today.

OK. 97 here today. Send iced tea with lemon. Send cold compresses and refrigerated astringent. Good news is – sun sets at about 1830. Whew. Happy weekend, all.

20

Wilie dear, calm yourself. A stroke is a terrible way to go.

So what is your solution? Who are you endorsing for Governor, or are you just mad at airplanes?

21

Have read his bizarre rants a couple times now and just want to say that each time I've gotten a good chuckle out of the "...our local Democratic politicians would be living in the dumpsters behind Home Depot and blowing Mexican day laborers to support their drug habits" line. Bravo!

22

I never needed a drug habit to blow a Mexican Day Laborer, but I’m not a Local Democratic Leader.

(I’m not usually one to work blue, but I couldn’t resist that one)

24

I don't fucking understand the Cinerama rights thing. Just because the purchase of the theater didn't come with permission to use that trademark, doesn't mean that SIFF COULDN'T HAVE JUST GOTTEN PERMISSION SEPARATELY.

It's a complete mystery to me how this ball has been incredibly dropped, and SIFF is being upsettingly secretive and private about it. I have to imagine SIFF has been taken over by the classic Seattle bureaucratic know-nothing attitude that makes a stupid decision, which it latches to with bullish tenacity, and then goes and has mai tais to celebrate their brilliance.

25

@2- can we just get a rope finally?

26

And is that 16 prostitutes including Melania?

29

@26,

Based on the intel I'm privy to, they're gonna need all 16 of those prostitutes AND Melania to satisfy all of the Mexican day laborers who are apparently seeking satisfaction at the Home Depot dumpsters.

30

It doesn't matter what you call "Cinerama" if there aren't any movies playing there. Looking forward to seeing some, no matter what they call it.

32

@19 I vote for Cinémathèque Seattleien.

33

@24 Do you seriously think SIFF should spend money on licensing a corporate name, instead of investing it in the theater itself and creating the best possible film-going experience? I just don't understand why some people are so upset about this. Put the sign in MOHAI and let's move on.

34

CKathes dear, I’m certainly not upset about the Cinerama issue. If anything, I think it’s stupid for the Cinerama folks to not waive the license fee, considering that this is (apparently) the last theatre specifically built for this technology still standing, and the few films made with this technology are pretty much all completely forgettable.

Raindrop dear, don’t be ridiculous. Melania trump is almost certainly a Russian agent. She deserves no respect.

35

@31 yer nuts. She sold herself to a carnival barker for a penthouse apartment. She’s completely gross. Barron is one fucked up kid no doubt, but he’ll never work and will likely never contribute. They can’t die off fast enough.

36

@35 - I wouldn't assume that little (tall) Barron is a fucked up kid. He's shy, and Rosie O'Donnell once suggested he may be somewhere on the autism spectrum. Ol' Donnie hasn't had much to do with the upbringing other than providing the funds. It's my understanding that Melania keeps him off and away from almost all the glitz, glamor, and PR. I've heard that Barron, Melania, and her parents have formed a subset offshoot of the Trump family and keep their distance from Big Daddy and the others whenever possible. Like, they winter in Switzerland, dude, and summer in Bar Harbor.

Melania I have mostly negative feelings about, but I also think she didn't know what she was getting into when she married the former president. Yes, she was complicit in much of the horror of those four years, but as First Lady she would never have been allowed to say, "My husband is one sick douche."

I don't excuse her for that. She could have walked, but stayed with the money. She could have said, "No, I won't be the tiniest part of this," but instead made Christmas at the White House blood red. She might have dressed very well - like Jackie Kennedy - but she just couldn't beguile or charm people. She belonged in a photograph in Vogue.

38

I hope Tara Rule sues that NY shitwipe "doctor" for every penny and wins.

39

@37 - 'Drop, to be clear I was saying that Melania might have made a more successful model. I was not advocating either way on the subject of her making the cover of Vogue as First Lady.

41

My hope for Baron is that he is someday able to meet and connect with his biological father.

43

It could be any number of men, Raindrop dear. And after all, trump himself referred to Barron as "Melania's son".

Stop trying to ascribe virtue where there is none. Republicans are horrible people.

45

Well, it's entirely possible that they lowered her onto him so that insemination could occur. Russian agents are know for their dedication to The Mother State, but having that blob on top of you is asking a bit much, even for her.
