While you're busily not doing that, I'll note our country doesn't have a gun problem. Allowing gun-fetishists to set our gun policy is our problem. The NRA exists to help gun manufacturers sell more guns. Full stop. We once had an ideology which placed top priority on selling more cars. When we noticed the carnage (ha!) this created, we changed our ideology, requiring safety first in motor vehicles, their installed equipment, and their roadways. Americans now travel more places in more cars than ever, with lower rates of injury and fatality; regulations do not automatically decrease freedom. If we had 1/10th the regulations on firearms we do on motor vehicles, we could still have all the guns we want, and yet eliminate most shootings.
