Alicia Nieves, who recruited, trained, and organized folks to support people were detained by ICE, has an interesting share on Compact, "How Pro-Immigrant Activism Turned Dangerous."

https://www.compactmag.com/article/how-pro-immigrant-activism-turned-dangerous/

Weimar political behavior begets Weimar outcomes, and that includes people getting hurt. Alicia Nieves knows this. TS does not.

2

RIP Climbers and Hikers.

4

@3 Yes, because if it's not literally true it's at least metaphorically apt.

5

"Amazon is planning to cut thousands more corporate jobs next week."

Where will Katie Wilson get the revenue to fund her Progressive utopia?

6

@4: I believe the couch as much as a I believe E. Jean Carroll.

7

That couch story is nothing, i heard trump impregnated satan and the baby self-aborted. I saw it on tv so it must be true.

8

"Jonathan Ross—the agent who killed Good—needs to be held accountable."

So where is the Hennepin County Attorney (DA) to charge violation of Minnesota Law?

Truth is that which conforms to reality.

Could there be no charges because democratically elected, progressive County Attorney Moriarty knows she can't overcome the defenses to murder and manslaughter provided by the democratically elected legislature, in a probable cause hearing held by a democratically elected state judge? Reality is there was no violation of Minnesota Law.

It's good to see democratically elected officials in Minnesota upholding democratically determined rule of law.

"The intentional taking of the life of another is not authorized except when necessary in resisting or preventing an offense which the actor reasonably believes exposes the actor or another to great bodily harm or death." - Minnesota 609.065

Long live democracy.

9

America, you are the sleeping giant asleep at the wheel. Wake up before you let us get driven off course by selfish pricks with delusions of grandeur. We cannot get to space playing king of the hill. This is not our way. We are the United States of America.

10

Vice-President Prissy McGuyliner was his usual prissy self in Minnesota. No wonder he's having an affair with Erika Kirk. They're like two peas in a pod.

You've got it backwards, barth dear. Satan attempted to impregnate trump, but couldn't get past his diaper. Even Satan was grossed out by that.

11

@9, "Our way" is whatever we democratically decide is "our way" in this democratic moment, under the humanist world view. Our way is whatever the President, Congress, governor, legislature, mayor, and/or city council that won the last election says it is. In a democracy there is no higher authority or arbiter of what "our way" is. "Our way" is in the eye of the beholder that won the last election.

12

Light rail Lake Washington connection opens March 28!

13

I can't really grasp how that whole tree thing happened and/or the likelihood it happening.

14

"Why the fuck did that man shoot her at close range four times?"

Perhaps because Renee Good's decision to accelerate in the direction of Jonathan Ross allowed him to reasonably conclude it was, "necessary in resisting or preventing an offense which the actor reasonably believes exposes the actor or another to great bodily harm or death," as prescribed in Minnesota Law.

It would also explain why there have been no state charges.

15

Notmyopic dear, promise me you’ll never lose your childlike sense of credulity. It’s really quite charming.

16

The Pacific Science Center is removing the entrance gates and ticket booth, allowing public access to the famous courtyard. A fantastic Minoru Yamasaki design. I always thought more architecture in Seattle should follow that "Space Gothic/Science Elvish" style.

17

If the prosecutor has not announced whether they are going to press charges or decline to do so, it means the prosecutor is not going to press charges. The more days that pass before they announce their decision, the more they’re not pressing charges.

19

@15, The default is presumption of innocence under our society's democratically adopted standards of the U.S. Constitution of Law.

It's the prosecutor's job to prove, beyond a reasonable doubt, that Jonathan Ross, committed a crime. It's their ethical obligation not to bring charges until they think they can meet that burden of proof.

@17 has it right.

20

@7 and @10: Satan and Donald Trump are men, not trans.

21

https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/transportation/when-will-light-rail-service-start-between-bellevue-and-seattle/

The opening of the light rail line will efficiently move taxes that Katie Wilson needs for her progressive ambitions out of Seattle. It will make it much easier for Amazon, Meta, et. al. to have the increasingly few office towers that they need to be in Bellevue. Every worker that they give a ORCA pass to can now take the taxes they pay to Bellevue every day and the jump start tax their employer pays out of Seattle.

22

“@17 has it right”

@17 is making fun of you, dumbass

It’s also the prosecutor’s job to explain to the public why they’re not filing charges if that’s their decision. Do you think they’re just stalling until all this blows over? Or do you think maybe they’re conducting an exhaustive investigation before announcing a decision either way? Before you answer, i don’t give a fuck what you think.

23

@22, Oh, I got that you were trying to make fun.

You still got it right. That is funny. The fact that you got it right drips with irony.

Prosecutors decline to file charges in cases, even alleged serious felony cases, hundreds of times a year, with no fanfare or public pronouncements.

The Hennepin County Attorney had announced well before this case that she was not running for re-election in 2026, in spite of her progressive credentials, in a progressive county, and a run on the endorsements of all the progressive political groups last time. What's in it for her to have a press conference on this subject. Nothing.

24

@2, More anecdotal evidence that nothing good comes from exercise.

25

@20, I can’t believe this needs to be explained but i should know better by now: satan is a fictional character that is arguably not even human. I am describing the central plot line from the latest season of south park.

26

The 5-year-old boy wasn't used as bait. The ICE officers said the mother could open the door and not be arrested. Image being that boy and your own mother won't open the door to get you.

Megyn Kelly breaks it down. I know we 'hate' her, but she has the facts that can be verified - however just replace "illegal" with "undocumented" in your mind for a smoother listening experience:

https://youtu.be/5x3vOTCqjZQ

27

@25: It was just a snarky quip that thought you'd disregard - however, Satan is very real just as God is. But of course the spiritually-challenged, like you, are at liberty to blissfully disregard that statement as well.

28

@27,

At the absolute minimum, I would have to concede that you've carved out an incredibly unique and fascinating niche for yourself here. You've got to be among the only devout and outspokenly gay, republican satanists on this blog, if not in all of Seattle proper.

29

@27 prove it - things that are real, not based on faith, are easy to prove.

30

@28: That niche was already taken by TQ+ crowd:

https://www.zazzle.com/satanic+pride+clothing

31

Looks like the whole alphabet is represented there but trolling christians is nothing new for queers. They’re just having fun, but being a gay republican OTOH is truly dark-sided.

32

@29: Like a gender other than male and female?

33

I saw that, Nekrasova dear. Very exciting.

Fun fact: During the 1962 World's fair, they put perfume in the pools, and did fashion shows on the platforms.

34

Dang... I sure picked a good day to work a double...
Totally missed out on horse cum and Satan's peen. (@20 Are you sure Satan and trump are men? Did you check their genitals to make sure?)

35

I mean if we’re striving for biblical accuracy, satan has no gender because he’s an angel, but I gather raindrop is thinking of pop culture satan, not fully human but extremely butch. Satan being non-binary feels very on brand though.

Side note, it’s crazy to think the guys who wrote the bible had conceived of non-binaryism thousands of years before the feminists, communists, and (((globalists))) conspired to destroy western society through gender ideology but to be fair many cultures have genders that fall outside of a sex-based binary so they’re not that special. What’s truly crazy is that this is the same book people are often thumping when they say there are exactly two genders and you’ll burn in hell forever if you disagree.

36

Not as crazy as people wanting to play victim of Christians claiming they will burn in hell if they disagree with objective reality. They, like barth, they cultivate their victimhood.

In fact, they won't burn in hell but just continue to live their miserable lives and be annoying. But it's a free country so be it.

37

Sorry, I thought we were talking about the objective reality of satan’s gender? It’s hard to keep up because the conversation swerves in a different direction every time you comment.

Back on topic: how do we reconcile the bible-reported fact that the angels were non-binary/agender with the objective reality that there can only be two? Is the bible a primitive work of science fiction? Or perhaps gender is a social construct with no fixed definition that varies by time, place, and culture? No reason both can’t be true i suppose.

38

@37: "objective reality of satan’s gender"

It's your fault when I said that Satan is male for you to extrapolate that into a literal point to argue on. But more than likely, Satan has a very nasty dick.

There is no objective reality when it comes to religious or spiritual mythology. But there is objective reality when it comes to human biology and the genders of male and female.

39

@1 thekossak - thanks for the link. I was struck by this statement: "Providing legal aid to migrants does not lend itself to dramatic scenes. No one has gone viral by posting bond for a detainee."

My PhD holding sister is doing ICE Watch activity in LA. So much drama and idealism, with not one concrete accomplishment from her that I can recall.

Me? Just helping attorneys with the onslaught of I-765 EAD applications that needed to be filed because one of the ways asylum applicants qualified for this benefit was revoked, making it necessary to file a ton of applications. Boring, but necessary, is my forte, but to her I'm "doing nothing".

40

I’m not arguing over satan’s gender, i am pointing out that the authors of the bible had a more expansive concept of gender than you, as do many other cultures today and throughout history.

To think all i needed to do was mention the overarching plotline from south park to spin you out this hard. It’s not healthy to be this obsessed with other people’s sense of self.

41

@40: All such concepts of gender throughout human history and cultures are merely expressions of masculine and or feminine identities of the two genders: male and female.

42

@41 no

gen·der
/ˈjendər/
noun

the male sex or the female sex, especially when considered with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones, or one of a range of other identities that do not correspond to established ideas of male and female.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender :

Gender is the range of social, psychological, cultural, and behavioral aspects of being a man (or boy), woman (or girl), or portraying a third gender. Although gender often corresponds to sex, a transgender person may identify with a gender other than their sex assigned at birth. Most cultures use a gender binary, in which gender is divided into two categories, and people are considered part of one or the other; those who are outside these groups may fall under the umbrella term non-binary. Some societies have third genders (and fourth genders, etc.) such as the hijras of South Asia and two-spirit persons native to North America. Most scholars agree that gender is a central characteristic for social organization; this may include social constructs (i.e. gender roles) as well as gender expression.

Lord forgive me, AI overview:

How does gender vary across cultures?

Gender varies immensely across cultures, with different societies defining roles, expressions, and even the number of recognized genders beyond the binary, influenced by history, economics, and social norms, seen in examples like matriarchal systems (Mosuo), third genders (Hijra, Fa'afafine), and varying divisions of labor, clothing, and social interactions.

43

@42 - Yes.

There's no third gender. Wikipedia is not the truth arbiter. Tell me, what hormone does the third gender use? What procreation purpose does it serve?

Nevertheless, if gender is an ideology or feeling, you're out of the realm of science.

Normal people just say:
Gender = Sex
Sex = Gender

Transgenderism is the only pathology where the cure is to have everyone else participate in the delusion.
