The Left needs lower gas prices, so women can afford to drive 1,200 miles when they need an abortion.

2

I think that it's perfectly wonderful that people under 18 will get free transit. But the idea that that will save them from learning how to drive, and/or own a car is at best ridiculous.

3

Seattlites are a little dramatic. It’s hot but we’ll acclimate in a day or two.

@1 patL for the WIN! Bravo and kudos, too, for beating me to it.
May this recent Extreme Court atrocity spell the end of the GOP.

@2 Catalina Vel-DuRay: Agreed. Commuters under 18 ride free where I live, too. It won't keep them from acquiring driver's licenses and cars, but it's still wonderful to have transportation alternatives.

Ya know something, Wally? I'm glad you and The Beav are still alive!

It wasn't until I finally moved away from Seattle that I realized what absolute pansies people there are when it comes to weather.

9

if nobody takes driver education, who is gonna drive the bus in the future, Charles? skynet? use ya damn head.

It sucks that a someone arriving on light rail at Westlake must either haul a suitcase up two flights of stairs or let it soak in an elevator full of urine. Fix the escalators and turnstile the stations.

@7
It's not drug use while on transit- it's an AP course in Pharmacology!

@9 In the future, there will be a class of people to do the necessary bus and truck driving. Since "workers" has a special meaning in Charles' Marxiverse, these people will have to be known as "untouchables."

The world is burning with higher average temperatures than ever, more wildfires, melting runways, infrastructure problems, and the same slog MAGA dumb dumbs are all “durrrrr… it’s summer hurrrr durrrr…”

No. It’s not “normal.”

https://www.sciencenews.org/article/climate-weather-normals-30-years-hottest-record-united-states

Normal keeps getting hotter and hotter.

“The last 30 years were the hottest on record for the United States
The average U.S. temperature for 1991–2020 was 53.3° F, up from 52.8° F during 1981–2010”

https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2021/05/04/climate-change-us-new-normal-hotter-than-used/4941336001/

And hotter everywhere.

@5:

Go count some more bullet-riddled dead bodies, you worthless fuck.

With the strains circulating now, Covid is a completely different beast than earlier in the pandemic. Grocery workers are not at more risk now than they are from flu etc. in a normal year (and btw the vast majority, even here in Seattle, have stopped wearing masks). The hazard pay can stop. At the very least, no one who refuses to mask up and get vaccinated should be eligible.
