So KOMO is fear-mongering about the weather now too?

Mark my words: gas-powered leaf blowers are NOT going away. Passing a law is one thing, enforcing it is something else - and this is a law that will never be enforced. SPD isn't going to respond to a 'nuisance call' regarding noise from a leaf-blower, and I doubt even city-hired contractors are going to obey the fine-print in their contracts prohibiting the use of a gas-powered blower.

@3 But it will increase leaf blower rage incidents. Or maybe, considering the anti- crowd, they'll just level some withering irony at the offender.

3 - True, not right away. But over time there will be fewer and fewer of them. And that's what's nice.

Good-bye leaf blowers and good riddance! Even more than the air pollution and noise, the damage to people's cars. Maybe there will be individual homeowners dumb enough to fight with their neighbors about this, but in terms of landlords' contrators (who don't care about damaging tenant vehicles - and landlords will comply, in this case), as well as, along with parks people who will also just comply. IMV this will already make a huge difference. Thank you SCC - stick to your guns.

equity analysis on gas-powered leaf blowers?

@1 STII: Agreed.

@2 Brent Gumbo: I'm not surprised. KOMO is owned by Sinclair Broadcasting. They're just as corporate owned RWNJ whack as FOX TeeVee. Both networks are infinitely more into scare tactics, smoke, and mirrors than reporting any actual news. However, I hear your sarcasm and believe that what I just stated mostly if not entirely corroborates your point.

@7 North American Jay Bird: Amen! Now if only the same leaf-blower banning law would pass in Bellingham, too.

FFS, CONVICT THE ORANGE TURD, AL-FUCKING-READY! Anyone else would be in federal prison FOR LIFE, and with no chance in Hell for parole! What has been publicly revealed by the FBI and WhIte House investigators really should spell the end of the mentally incompetent global disaster that is Donald John Trump. FINALLY.
May the Orange Turd and its creators, Fred and Mary Anne MacCleod Trump all roast together like pigs at a Hawaiian luau for all eternity, and the Trump bootlicking GOP consequently faces mass extinction.

48 years later all this RepubliKKKan bullshit dating back to Ronald Reagan and the Bush oil dynasty has been vengeance for Richard M. "I am NOT a crook!" Nixon's resignation on August 9, 1974, post-Watergate scandal investigation. A narcissistic, unscrupulous reality TV show host, rape minded psychopath, Putin sock-puppet, shady real estate developer, hopeless Twitter addict, and con artist blowing smoke who stole the 2016 election, and whose heinous crimes make Tricky Dicky look like an altar boy by comparison SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAD THE CONTROL OF THE WHITE HOUSE HANDED TO IT ON A STERLING SILVER PLATTER.

Much to the relief of everyone who likes to have a peaceful morning...

Do people really think electric leaf blowers are not almost just as loud? Pretty sure my neighbor would still be pissed if I brought it out anytime before 9AM.

"2 cycle leaf blowers are the most common type of leaf blower, and on average operating ranges, around 50ft away from a bystander, are around 80 – 90 decibels (dB). On average corded electric and battery-powered blowers tend to be just a hair quieter, around 65 -70 dB. However, there are new “quiet” gas models on the market that can get down to 65 dB, but those tend to be high-end commercial models."
