One. A bunch of grifters got to gather in the depression and decided to identify themselves as Duwamish.
Two. The Government said "no, you seem to just be grifters with no tribal history prior to the 1920s."
Three. The Muckleshoot tribe, home of the actual descendant of the Duwamish, agreed with the government.
Four. Progressives take up the fight promoting the grift to naive Seattle liberals and trying to guilt them into falling for the grift.

I don't know shoobop, but that sure sounds like identity politics to me.
