Um, that indiscriminate chicken scratch on walls littered throughout the city is not art nor does it have any value and people from all socioeconomic classes will tell you that. It’s just a narciccists idle hands at work.

The “In my kitchen” paragraph was some delightful prose.

I don’t understand why all the hate for the middle class though.

“- GDP growth 3x Trump
- 5x as many jobs as last 3 Repub presidents COMBINED
- Deficit plummeting
- Lowest uninsured, poverty rates in history
- Lowest peacetime unemployment rate since WWII
- Wage growth, new biz starts elevated”

And yet none of it matters at all, because brown and black people aren’t suffering enough, so hate KKKrazed white trash supremacists and traitors will vote for the Republinazis to destroy us all in their ongoing national murder-suicide.

"Hating on graffiti is so middle class, and those in this segment of society have a value system that deserves nothing but our contempt. If the middle class ruled this world, there would be no art, no nothing of any real value. Their souls can only grow like lawn grass."

Charles, you gotta tell me what your favorite strain of weed is right now.

Well Charles, you’ve made some weird-ass claims in various cranky columns over the years, but this is a real winner! What the actual fuck are you talking about? Folks who are upper, middle, and lower economic classes generally hate the eyesore of graffiti, but please feel free to volunteer your own house to the next graffiti “artist” needing a surface to paint. OR you could suggest, if their egos are so needing artistic expression, that they go buy a damned canvas or board to paint on, like all the middle-class artists I’ve ever known… and sculptors. And composers. And musicians. All those “middle-class” folks you wrote off as worthless Philistines who contribute nothing to the human condition.

@7 @10 Was waiting for the "Can I (or "they") come over to your house to spray paint your walls?" comments. Waiting also for the column that explains the difference between grafiti art and tagging to the Philistines, but enjoying the ride as it is.

There’s graffiti art, which can be justified through a certain lens, and then there’s littering with paint. So much of what Seattle had right now is paint litter. The art critic in you must understand this.

@12 - Throwing in the towel is not good governance.
