As to the overnite highway work, give some thought to what it costs society in terms of lost productivity (or lost wages for those who don't get paid unless they show up, if you don't give a damn about productivity) if the roads are blocked during the day. Even if you discount the cost to anyone evil enough to commute in a car, the working-class heroes on the bus will also be made late. Can you sorta see how it makes sense to do the work when the roads are least crowded?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I was brought here by SL too, a decade and a half ago. But whatever, media landscapes change. I love Dan Savage, even if I won't catch his column anywhere near as often as I used to. I do think it'd be cool if The Stranger addressed what happened, if Dan is longer affiliated with them or whatever.
