Tina Kotek will be Oregon's next governor thank fucking god. TINA FOR OREGON

If and when Harris is nominated, a Republican win is guaranteed. She's unelectable.

2

@1 Kamala Harris has never lost an election in her entire political career. She may be many terrible things, but "unelectable" is provably not one of them.

Kamala Harris is the unfortunate, but predicable, Peter Principle consequence of identity politics.

@4 Politicians don't get their jobs through promotions. They have to re-apply and go through the whole competitive hiring process every time they want a new position, even within the same company.

8

@5 Biden's got the charisma of three-day old bread, yet here we are, y'know? And DeSantis has even less.

Given the howling about CRIME CRIME CRIME blasting out of Fox News, running a Cop for president might work. Or it might not? I figure it depends pretty heavily on who they run against the Cop.

9

@7: Your pedantry does not negate the comparison.

10

Joe Biden needs to go. FFS why can't he see that? WE DO NOT NEED HIM TO RUN AGAIN IN 2024. WE NEED SOMEONE YOUNG AND EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT AND WILLING TO DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE AND NOT THINK ONCE ABOUT GETTING RE-ELECTED.

Meanwhile 210 people who deny Biden is the legitimate president of the United States won their elections. This country is a dumpster fire. People in Georgia actually want HERSCHEL WALKER to be in a position of power. MARJORIE GREENE TAYLOR was re-elected. RON DESANTIS AND GREG ABBOTT were re-elected. It is incomprehensible that this country stomps around the world pretending to be the protector and purveyor of democracy when we have sat here and allowed Trump and every single one of his MAGAt RWNJs to get away with treason, including every single white supremacist who participated in the attempted coup on 1/6/2021. Black people are serving decades or even life sentences for crimes like stealing or selling marijuana while the domestic terrorists are serving days and months (with the exception of the one man who assaulted the Capitol cop who got 7 years).

As for Kamala Harris, her being deemed unelectable as POTUS has nothing to do with her ability to do the job.
Donald Trump proved that this country does not care if someone can do the job. This country would elect a fucking rock if it were a white supremacist misogynist. Hillary was not elected because she is a woman. Kamala would not be elected because she is Black and she is a woman. The fact that Georgia won't elect Stacey Abrams for Governor, but will elect a cheating, lying piece of shit like Brian Kemp (who didn't get re-elected, because he STOLE the first election he "won") proves that white racists in this country simply will never get the fuck over themselves or the fact that they have to live in the world with other people.

Dumpster fire > will turn into a nationwide wildfire > will destroy the world. Dying by Putin and nuclear war would be less painful. But nah, we're going to suffer as much as possible for as long as possible because racist white people are sick, sadistic, and stupid as fuck.

11

"who didn't get re-elected, because he STOLE the first election he "won"

Brian Kemp won Georgia twice because he won the most votes in both elections.

Xina underscores the point that the lefties can be as mentally warped as the election-denying MAGA republicans. Which is good to know actually as it point to the human condition rather than politics. These people deserve our pity.

14

The obsessive need to ruminate over lost elections is just as dangerous as it builds upon distrust of our political system and manufactures excuses for more violence.

16

I have every confidence that Stacey Abrams will find herself in the statehouse or in DC in coming years. Bless her heart.

17

"That GOP-led House won't even work with each other on stuff"

Hmm, this sounds vaguely familiar.Oh, I know! Like how the Dems had full fucking control for the last two years and couldn't get fuckall passed because of the super far left progressives and their "my way or the highway" stance?

Slightly disappointed that Kotek pulled it off, but hopeful that Johnson's strong showing finally sent a message that we're all sick and tired of the bullshit two party system. Probably won't, knowing how things have played out in Oregon all my life, but a girl can dream.

20

@17 I didn't know sinema and manchin were far left progressives. The more you know I guess.

21

@16 I kinda doubt that. Like Beto I think her window has closed and she'll either become some sort of activist or just fade into the background. She could probably win a house seat but after going for governor twice I think she'd consider that a step back.

22

@21: As Adlai Stevenson said. "I'm too old to cry but it hurts too much to laugh."

23

Regarding the alliteration, I'm pretty sure it's just the universe's way of really rubbing it all in the face of upside down "M", Wisconsin's face.
