Even more confusing than the question of who's best positioned to win the Republican nomination is the question of who liberals should want to win the Republican nomination.

In other words: Is Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, or John Kasich most beatable in the general election?

If these national head-to-head polls are to be believed, liberals should actually be rooting for Trump to become the Republican nominee. (He's the only Republican who both Clinton and Sanders beat—and the only Republican Clinton beats, period.) But, but, BUT. These national head-to-head polls are bullshit metrics in the end, because we don't elect presidents in national head-to-head races. We elect them through the electoral college. And who knows what happens with the electoral college this year.

Or maybe you know? Tell a person!
