Identity politics, 2016: Anything and everything is about race. Denial of this new dogma will get you branded a white supremacist by the SPLC.
2
Swing and a miss, Charles.
3
I'm not sure whether I should be amused or depressed about how desperate you're getting, Charles.
5
You really want to see a Mudede swing and a miss? Let me preface this by saying that I absolutely loathe Ben Shapiro and nearly everything that sanctimonious prick stands for. That said, he absolutely bulldozed Charles in a panel I just recently found out about. Charles couldn't even put together coherent sentences.

Hrm.. my link got edited out. Go Google "KTTH Freedom Series Race in America" -- it's on Youtube with Mudede and Ben Shapiro.
7
The last thing this story is about is race.
8
This strikes me as a little rant. No worries. Tomorrow's another day. Nice picture in the link!
9
Why the fuck did Charles have to go all racist towards the end? What an ass hole.
10
I'm pretty confident that both Williams sisters are using performance drugs too. And probably most of the top players, men and women.

Pro sports is a business, not a game.
11
Kind of a low blow, Charles.

Anyway, there's a 10000% chance she was taking this for performance-enhancing reasons, she practically recited the approved uses in her statement.

Of course, there's a pretty high chance most tennis players were taking this or something similar, and smartly stopped with the change of rules.

A person born in a two-bit town in Siberia just before the implosion of the Soviet Union, in a province you've never heard of, to parents who moved there fleeing the Chernobyl disaster... well, that's pretty much the apotheosis of privilege.
13
Sad you have not had Martin Luther's dream yet. Get some sleep!
14
@12: Mudede has never done any research for anything before, he sure as hell is not going to start now, especially just for race-baiting.
15
Thanks, Charles, for reminding us that racism isn't the sole domain of white people.
16
@5 & 6...was that some sort of satire of the most stereotypical conservatives and liberals and someone posted it on YouTube or was it supposed to be a serious discussion? I couldn't stop laughing at the total absurdity of the video.

Charles. As it stands, that post is actually sexist. You made the Sharapova doping story about the beauty standard for women, not about the behavior standards for professional athletes. Does Sharapova milk her opportunities for product endorsements? Sure. If she is in some way guilty of perpetuating racism by letting them pay her for modeling, you need to use a few more words to tell us what you think she should do instead, not just hold your own beauty standard contest by blog sneer. Shame on you and the editor who didn't edit you. Could you think a little harder about your male gaze and male privilege the next time you comment on women and appearance?

I wouldn't call this post "racist," but it seems "sexist" for sure. Disappointing. I'm not used to seeing stuff like that here.
21
@19) You are a total bigot. None of the word salads you spout will ever disprove that.
22
Just like in cycling, they're all doping. And football. And baseball. ..........
23
The substance is newly banned this year, likely whoever manages her doping regime just fell behind on the literature and missed that.

24
Race baiting, is this where slog wondered off to?
Good luck with that.
25
I think you are all being to hard on Charles, I mean this just reminds me of the time that a bunch of white athletes had to use performance enhancing drugs to keep pace with the totally clean living Barry Bonds.
26
@23, that's exactly what happened.

On March 7, 2016, former world number one tennis player Maria Sharapova announced that she had failed a drug test in Australia due to the detection of meldonium. She said that she had been taking the drug for ten years for various health issues, and had not noticed that it had been banned.
