This is the room at the Frye that I talk about as the memorial chapel for Noah Davis in Young Blood. The painting at the far end of the garden is the last one he made thats on display. Its from 2015. He died in August.

Talk dirty to us! Introducing Five Minute F(*)ck!
A new podcast series featuring a showcase of your smutty stories, told by you, five minutes or less!

I talked this week with KUOW's Jeannie Yandel about why you should run, not walk to see Young Blood: Noah Davis, Kahlil Joseph, and the Underground Museum at the Frye tonight.

KUOW asked me to pick just one show** and I had no choice but to choose Young Blood. HELLO. It is very important, very good, and won't be here forever. Don't waste your chance to see these paintings and videos.

This week I also happened to finally watch Beyonce's Lemonade. News stories have consistently reported that Beyonce worked with several directors on it. But the first slide under "Directed by" in the credits of Lemonade reads only "Kahlil Joseph, Beyonce Knowles Carter." In that order.

At the Frye: Kahlil's three-sided cinema, his four-channel documentary about his brother, and a brand new work that hasn't been seen anywhere else, featuring the singer Alice Smith in a recording session shortly after her grandmother died and while Kahlil's brother, Noah, was dying.

Kahlil Josephs three-sided cinema at the Frye sends light, imagery, and sound across the gallery like a dream disco.

**Here's the comprehensive list for tonight's Art Walk downtown. I recommend Woodside/Braseth, Abmeyer/Wood, James Harris, Greg Kucera, G. Gibson, Glass Box, Linda Harris, Platform, Punch, and the Lusty Lady (if only to get into that place again!).
