Woah, that some heavy language! At least someone is finally calling bullshit and using the C word. Corruption.

I always find it strange (or convenient) that we rarely refer to Congress and the rest of the US government as plainly corrupt. Taking kickbacks from the organizations you are responsible for governing is the definition of corruption!

I understand loving money. I like money. I would like more money and I objectively have "enough." (I could give away more!)

But the super wealthy? Who want more? The heads of states who are draining their countries dry while their people suffer?

I don't understand that level of .... what? What is it? How do you translate that behavior into normal human pathologies?

All I have is a quote from one of the robber barons at the beginning of the last century. Not sure which one -- a Rockefeller? When asked when he (and it was a he) would have enough money, he answered, "When I get my next dollar."

Stunning in its black hole of rapaciousness. Black hole of need.

They are hoarders, like the poor who hoards food, and the lonely who hoards cats. The ultra rich hoard money and possessions. Maybe they're afraid their friends won't return their calls and their beautiful wives will leave for wealthier men if they can't keep getting richer.

I dated someone who lives in a penthouse in one of the ultra lux buildings downtown. His very wealthy family are all single, except for his mom, who was divorced. He never sees his dad. His family can't find people who they could be sure were not after their money so they stayed single.

Even Ted Turner attempted to argue the point in his rich circles of friends that they didn't realistically need more than $200-400,000/year. Deaf ears, it fell on.

They'll never get it. They (the ultrarich) don't have any relationships with people "beneath" their class. It's a form of 'anomie'... that normlessness that comes with relative anonymity and lack of connection with the community. It's that disassociation that allows people to steal and rob. The ultrarich don't know any little people like us, only other ultrarich people, so that's whom they compare themselves to... as they slip sociopathically ever further away from any sense of responsibility to their country, society, or wider community, listening only to early-church capitalist Randian assholes selfishly bleating on about 'takers' and überindividualism.

If they are unwilling or unable to care about other people, then Fuck Them.

Please wait...
