Looks like the dizzy, myopic, bonnet-bee-filled Nancy Pelosi will be House Speaker yet again.
2
The entire media -- and most of the GOP -- have spent 10 months telling us that Mexicans in the United States are going to HATE Trump for saying he'll build a wall. Now they're outraged that Trump thinks one Mexican hates him for saying he'll build a wall.

Other than a few right-wingers, no one denounced now-sitting Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor for her "wise Latina" speech, in which she said "our gender and national origins may and will make a difference in our judging."

But Trump is a "racist" for saying the same thing.

@3: there's the law, there's "making a difference", and then there's bias. if Trump really feels Curiel is biased against him, have his lawyers made a motion to have the judge recused from the case?
7
@6: my aunt posted as much about bill Clinton last night - "why does Ivanka get asked by the librul meedya about her father and women when Chelsea doesn't get asked why her dad is a pedophile rapist?"

Baume is en fuego

@3: This is a terrible interpretation of her words, which is a reflection of how she evolved as a person into a qualified judge. She never once said -- or even gave the barest suggestion of saying -- that her background gave her an excuse to be biased against non-Latinos. It's not that hard to tell the difference between such things if you read more than tweets and talking points.

@2 Is just a racist troll like most commentors on the slog, in case you may have missed the comments posted for every single article involving a person of color.

Is my faith misplaced that reporters will manage to remember to ask Paul Ryan about pledging his support to someone he himself declared as a racist when Mr Ryan does finally resurfaces to run for president in 2020?
13
I got a vibe this morning that Trump was going to call Ryan his veep pick. I think it's going to be a DC insider, and I narrowed it down to Gingrich or Ryan. Ryan's MIA, then, huh? Hmmmm.
14
it's possibly one of the worst anti-poverty plans since "let them eat cake."

Lol. I like your style, Mr Baume.
15
Methinks Baume has Ron and Rand Paul on the brain. Journalistically referring to Paul Ryan with a single name should default to "Ryan," not "Paul," wouldn'tcha think?
16
@15: Rand Paul Ryan works for me.
17
@15, yeah that was weird.
18
@15-17 I recall in 2012 confusing Rand Paul, and Paul Ryan, I just renamed them both Bruce to avoid confusion.

@1 Raindrop it is long past time for you to take off your Republican tribal shades. If Pelosi was a Republican you'd be singing her hymns to her.
Take a step back and very deep breath, then reassess how many of your comments are just knee jerk Republican tribalism and how much is You actual thinking through the issues.
